Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport where 2 teams of 6 players are separated by a net. The teams score a point by grounding the ball under very specific rules. The ball is usually played with the hands or arms, but players can legally strike or push (short contact) the ball with any part of the body.
It is a highly competitive sport which involves physical and mental fitness. Strategic play and quick decision making is a big part of this game.
The gradual development of the sport at PBHS has aroused the interest of many learners. We currently sport teams in the u14, u16 and u19 divisions. Preseason starts halfway through term 1 in preparation for the tournament held at WBHS. The tournament as well as the league matches are played indoor at WBHS. The majority of the matches are held on a Saturday.
The 2010 season was a verysuccessful one for PBHS. The u14 missed going into the final by one game. The u16 reached the finals and won in thrilling manner. Volleyball is a very social sport that can be played by anyone that has dedication, and enthusiasm. School is a holistic experience and the focus is not always academics. Join the volleyball team. You will be surprised at what you can do Volleyball is about friendship, camaraderie and working together.
