The South African U17 Menβs National Team, affectionately known as Amajimbos, is gearing up for the 2024 COSAFA Championships, set to take place in Maputo, Mozambique. Among the talented squad is Khayalethu Mzimela, a young sensation from Pinetown Boys High School and the British Football Academy, whose inclusion in the team has sparked excitement and pride around Pinetown and Durban circles.
Amajimbos will convene on 25 November 2024 at the SAFA Technical Centre in Johannesburg to kick off their preparations for this pivotal tournament. The COSAFA Championships not only serve as a prestigious regional competition but also offer a pathway to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations 2025 in Cote dβIvoire and the ultimate prizeβa chance to compete in the FIFA U17 World Cup.

South Africa U17 Men’s National Team Head Coach Vela Khumalo called up a squad of 26 players which will be trimmed to 20 around 28 November 2024, before the team departs for the regional showpiece in December 2024.
