Pinetown Firsts Rugby Team Return as Champions

Pinetown Boys High Return as Champions
School’s are back in session—and Pinetown Boys High returns with silverware in hand! Over the holidays, from the 29th of March to 2nd of April 2025 our 1st XV were crowned Champions of the 2025 Uhuru U18 Rugby Tournament, going unbeaten in all three fixtures and finishing top of the log.
Our boys didn’t just win—they impressed! Several players received individual awards, earned spots in the Team of the Tournament, and were offered invitational study opportunities from scouting tertiary institutions looking to groom future rugby stars.
Structured. Disciplined. Relentless.
Whilst you reflecting on the scorelines of 5 Days that was filled with just over 240 minutes of physicallity, confrontational, uptempo running & entertaining rugby allow me to explain to you what was displayed on the field in Amanzitoti.
From the opening whistle on Day 1 to the final moments of Day 3, Pinetown Boys’ High School’s 1st XV showcased a level of rugby that was both intentional and intelligent. Every carry, tackle, kick, and pass reflected a well-structured approach that prioritized territory, possession, and momentum.
Their game plan was clear—play with purpose, trust the system, and execute under pressure. Even in narrow phases where space was limited, the PBHS squad dug deep, stayed disciplined, and remained committed to their structure. The team’s ability to maintain concentration over extended passages and focus on perfecting the smallest details proved decisive.
This is a group that’s earned every point. Every inch gained was the result of preparation, patience, and precision. Compared to their 3rd place finish in 2024, this year’s performance marks a significant step forward—and a strong statement for the season ahead.
PBHS has set the tone. The only way from here is upward and onwards.
